Hey folks, I've perused this site for info, but have not yet come up with anything solid on laptops and other electronics. I have ordered a Packtite unit, so I'm pretty confident that most of my other stuff can be baked in there, but. what about:

    TVs
    Electronics like components
Video game systems (I have a brand new one that I spent much-bucks on and hardly used)
Small personal electronics, like hand-held massagers and massage seats
Laptops and other personal computing equipment such as routers

Also, I have a large upright wooden piano that has been with me since I was 3 years old. I cannot lose this. Would Murphy's Oil Soap do the trick on that? I'm not so sure that the chemicals used to treat wooden furniture that my PCO will be using would be good for the mechanism.

Any information would be most helpful. PCO is coming on Wednesday for first treatment.

Thanks for the site and thanks to all of you who post information. Your messages are a godsend.

i packtited my laptop - but big caution here - i removed the battery first

i kept a close eye on it and turned off the packtite every time it got over 125
i did it for an hour
it was fine! also threw in my wireless mouse (without its batteries) and the little stick
which goes in the side of the computer to run it - they are also fine

The electronics will be fine in the Packtite.

You've hired a professional, right? Call him up and ask him how he's going to treat the piano. Ask him how he knows it's safe. If you're not satisfied, find another PCO.

Thanks. I'll check it out with my PCO if I need to do it. I keep the thing on pretty much all the time, closed that is.

Does anyone know if remote controls can go in the Packtite? My unit hasn't arrived yet, but I'm anxious to give it a whirl.

Good advice. I've already called them up and bugged them about two other things. They are coming tomorrow so I don't know if I can get in touch with them before-hand, but I read on here that Murphy's oil soap should do the trick.

If you have a mild infestation you suspect of only living in the floor, do you even need to worry about electronics?

I believe that most pros will sats that if you have a mild case and are not taking items to someone else's home and are not imminently moving, then electronics need no special treatment. (Note: I'm not a pro.)
