Sorry, those are in fact bed bugs. Unless the off chance they are bat bugs .. that would really be dependent on location and circumstances.
We would need the bug turned over and zoomed in on to differentiate.

beetle larvae

So the larva is different from the bugs? I found the bugs in my kitchen/bathroom and the larva in my bedrooms.
-
Larva of odd beetle, a dermestid, called Thylodrias contractus.

The bugs you have pictured are either bed bugs or bat bugs ... I'm going with bed bugs.
The larva is from a beetle ... two different bugs.
If you're in an apartment with multiple units .... all signs point to a bad infestation in a neighbors apartment when you find bugs in the kitchen and bath. That is unless your place if over run with them. When I say neighbor I mean any tenant above, below, left, and right of you.
I'll place 94% of my bet on the downstairs neighbor. Its time to notify Management/landlord and get to the bottom of the problem.
Good Luck!

Thanks. I have only found the semigrown bugs in kitchen and bath- yes, I think it is a neighbouring apt and landlord has been alerted. Thanks so much for your help!

One more question, KillerQueen: Do I need to be concerned about the odd beetle? I have found them in various places in the house. Not tons, but a good 10-15 (maybe more were vacuumed). Thanks!

Odd beetle is a very common species to be found in many homes. Feed on most often on animal derived proteins, so woolens, felts, dried skins, hairs, dander, dead insects and other animals, etc.

So the exterminator came and didn't find ANY signs of bed bugs in the bedroom/living room. I wasn't there but apparently they did a "precautionary" treatment of the floors (not mattresses). I'm still finding these bugs (the flicker link, not the beetle larvae) dead in my kitchen. Am I crazy? Are they not bed bugs? Should I stop worrying?
Thanks to anyone who has advice.
