   I am a newbie, but from some of my previous posts you know that I like to pick the brains of the experts here that so generously give their time.

   I was wondering:

   How many times have you personally found bugs in a hotel room you were staying in/ checking prior to staying in?

   How many of your service calls are for hotels ( vs residential or other commercial sites like a school or movie theater, etc)?

   Have you personally ever had to treat your home or found bedbugs because of the work you do ( I know we've had a previous discussion about how you avoid bringing 'your work home', as it were.)

   Other than the obvious of checking your room, are there any other precautions that you regularly take? ( bagging items, Pack tight things)

   Is there any place that you would absolutely would NEVER stay ( no names please, just curious if you have a personal 'avoid at all costs' list)

   Not to discount anyone else's experiences, but I like to hear what the people that live and breathe bedbugs recommend/ have experienced. I have read so many threads of ' I covered myself in 91% alcohol, or I used space heaters to thermal my house" or any other number of ' ineffective' or unsafe or just plain crazy things that well.... Prefer to weed that stuff out and go right to those who have been trained.

   Thanks for any and all responses. Yes, I am paranoid....but the more info I get and can educate myself as to prevention, the better I am feeling about my ability to be proactive in a sensible way rather than think of the worst case scenario.

   Yes, better to be proactive, I just wanted to say months ago I was also trying to be proactive because I heard other units in my building had bedbugs, so bought some DE and lightly dusted apartment.

   I still did end of with the dreaded rotten bugs, and its finally now being treated after complaining in mid July.

   Wise to find out as much as possible before it happens for sure!
