PCO VISITS - IS 2 ENOUGH
(15 posts)-
Hi guys,
I just had my second PCO visit and he doused the house with Suspend all around and in all the furniture. All the electrical outlets were dusted with Delta Dust and he used D-Force in my couch. The first visit, he used Suspend around the perimeter of the place and Bedlam in all the cracks and crevices and Delta Dust in the electrical outlets. He's telling me that this is all I need and I should put all my clothes back into my drawers and go on with life. I have my (new) mattress and boxspring encased of course but I don't have my bed isolated because he treated it with Suspend. In the entire process of doing this work, the PCO did not find ONE live but at all. Further I did not find ONE dead bug at all. The only thing we did find was one cast skin a few weeks back. I threw out my old mattress, at his suggestion and one of my dressers where they were likely to be hiding (although the PCO found none in there). Does this sound right. Could I be bug free after 2 visits like this?
Thanks.

I can't remember, Dawn, are you the person who had nobody necessarily reacting to bites? And no black specks? Please remind us what evidence you did have before treatment began, and when you last saw any of the same evidence.
-
the only things i had were little blood speckles on my pillow and one cast skin that the pco found when he came to my house. we never found ANY feces at all or any live or dead bugs or eggs.
-
if any bugs are there they will be coming out and dying. If you see more than 2 bugs, then maybe one more treatment in that room only would also help--but the PCO say's no.
When he's done and the poisons are gone Why not just continue to keep making--or actually make your house bed bug unfriendly for a long time to come if you have not already.
Isolate the bed and laundry 100% and all of that.
I think you said you were in Queens and Mom and Pop live downstairs right?Keep up checking for bed bugs for six weeks until you find nothing.
Even better--if you have money to burn .... bring the bug sniffing dog back in and see what he and the trained owner who should also be checking for bugs say's now?
Be sure and let us know Dawn
Good luck ;) -
i live in nj in a two family house. my parents do indeed live downstairs. i guess now all i can do is pray and wait to see what happens.

Monitor and keep handling the clothes as per the FAQ so that, just in case, you don't spread bedbugs anywhere else. (Are you sleeping back in your room? I think you said you slept in your office a few days. You need to go back to the room.)
-
i am sleeping back in my room. both it and the office have been treated. everything else has been put away and back in it's original place, per my PCOs instructions. all my clothing has also been put away and so have my shoes. my PCO told me to vaccuum up carefully two days after the treatment and then put everything back.
-
Dawn, you can alway Pray and DO; you can do the non PCO interventions to prevent and limit any spread if picked up again. Stuff like--if the bed has been isolated--keep it that way. Suff like laundry in plastic bags and the like. For what it's worth, Dawn, I'd give it a month before I re-used the dresser and I'd keep my stuff sealed in plastic bags.
Again, good luck--willow. -
but the pco already told me to put my stuff back in the dresser and i listened to him. did he tell me the wrong thing? should i not have done this?
-
Dawn,
You haven't had any signs of bugs. I'd usually say keep the stuff in bags longer, but it's done. Try not to worry. You may have had a small infestation, in which case two treatments may be enough. If you have any further signs, you can go back to treatment and washing/bagging.
Your PCO is a pretty large company and have probably handled a lot of bed bug cases. Have some confidence in them.
Did your parents have any signs? Have you inspected/had a PCO inspect their home? -
my parents haven't had any signs at all and the pco hasn't inspected their apartment. i'm just concerned that he told me to put the stuff back so soon. does it sound like he might not know what he's doing?
-
Dawn,
As I said, I doubt that's the case.
The reason I asked about your parents is because if there are bed bugs in adjoining units, that affects your treatment.
But if I were you, I would try to relax. Be alert. Unless you have more signs (bites, fecal spots, sightings of bugs or cast skins or eggs), I would not panic.
A lot of people here are very cautious, but you have to remember a lot of people here have bigger bed bug problems (evidenced by more signs), and neighbors with bed bugs (which can mean they keep coming back). Getting rid of bed bugs in two visits is entirely possible in a small infestation. -
thanks, i'm going to keep my eyes open for any new signs and keep checking my sheets, etc. and keep praying praying praying. been doing a lot of that lately...

Sounds Good, Dawn.
Be confident. -
Exactly.
