PCO used A LOT of DE
(3 posts)-
I had three appointments with a PCO and as far as I can tell, the bedbugs have gone away (it's hard to know for sure though). Anyway, the PCO laid down very thick lines of DE on the carpet, surround our bed. The edges of our mattress was coated with DE as well.
I've since learned from the forum that this is exactly what NOT to do. However, what do I do now? Vacuum it all up while wearing a respirator? I've heard that it can destroy vacuums but soaking it up with a wet paper towel is not getting us far.
We've been sleeping on top of this stuff for a few weeks with only a sheet between us and the DE. Should we be concerned about health problems?

I still keep DE laid down after over a year of being bug free but clean it up frequently, when I pull furniture out to clean and inspect. I use a bucket of plain water, a microfibre cloths and wear a simple surgical mask and rinse the cloth after each wipe Thank you to Doug Summers. Also if you have acsess to a H20 or Shark Steam Mop they work great on carpeted areas. It is always under my furniture but I dust it on with a paint brush.

I am not an expert on the best way to take it up-- hopefully
someone will have a suggestion-- but I would definitely go with respirator mask as opposed to simple dust mask.
