PCO: Spray or Heat/Thermal?
(3 posts)-
I'm freaking out and want to get this over with as soon as possible. If I get a professional to get rid of the bed bugs, would you recommend a heat treatment rather than multiple "sprays"?
Heat treatments are expensive, I know, but I think I'd bite the bullet if it's effective. The thought of sprays not hitting just one little crevice the bed bugs were at...and endless, endless laundry is making me really anxious, paralyzed and depressed. I work 60 hour weeks and I looked at myself in the mirror this morning and I look TIRED...totally drained. I just want this over as soon as possible. If a heat treatment can solve it, rather than multiple spray treatments, I just want to get this over with.
I've been reading that the heat treatment can eradicate all the eggs and bed bugs in all crevices, and I find that appealing that it is effectively "sterilizing" my apartment all at once. After that, I will continue all the usual precautions, get a Packtite, laundry...but it's just such a HUGE mental relief, knowing that at least the apartment is a clean sanctuary I can return to.
Thoughts? Is the heat treatment really the save pill? Or am I just wishfully thinking?
I'm a little OCD and anxious to begin with, as a person, so that's why I hope to get this with as soon as possible w/o many multiple treatments. It makes me want to throw up each day knowing it's still out there...not complete...tons to worry about, on top of all the other things I already obsess about.
Thanks for any insights.

evel -- are you still checking in?
I'd love to know what you did. I'm feeling EXACTLY the same way & getting ready to do a heat treatment but am hoping I'm not buying into something that might not be the magic solution it sounds like. -
Get a Blended Thermal Remediation and get a WARRANTY. Blended will use products like DE or Tempo 1% and provide ongoing protection. Too many companies are doing bad work and walking away giving thermals a poor reputation. Thermal remediation is the best way to kill bed bugs. Ask Dr. Potter or Dr Dini Miller or ME. We have been doing thermals for four years. We have taken homes, buildings, facilities that were infested beyond belief, that have had multiple chemical treatments and cleaned them up in one treatment. If we didnt we came back and made it right. Dont settle for a non-warrantied job either chemical or thermal. Otherwise you are just throwing your money away.
