PCO Off the mark?
(2 posts)-
Hey all,
To make a long story short, I will say that I have had the suspicion that I might have BB's for about 3.5 weeks. I have had three PCO's come in this time. The last one was here on Thursday (from Orkin). He looked at the sofa, the beds, sheets, and box springs and could not find anything (I knew he would not find anything in those places, I look there all of the time and much more carefully than any of the PCO's).
Anyway, it is evident that I have some other bug issues here (ants, silverfish, red flour beetles). This PCO wants to start treating the place for these pests now. I asked him if I should wait until I was more certain about the BB's:
Me: "Won't your treatment possibly drive BB's deeper into hiding and make it harder to detect a problem?"
Orkin Guy: "Of course not, it won't affect them at all...Plus, if you do find a BB problem you will qualify for a discounted treatment..."
Isn't treating for other bugs a bad idea when you have a possible BB problem? Is this guy ignorant, trying to rip me off, or thinking that I am just paranoid and ignoring the BB talk?

Alot of the pesticides used to kill the pest he found would also kill BB too . Do some home work on the pest he wants to kill and see if its worth the money right now , keeping in mind that if you do have BB it could become a costly adventure . Me personally I could sleep know some of those pest are in my house and would want to put all my energy behind the BB .
