I have completely stripped my room after dealing with bed bugs for the past few months. My carpet is no longer there, I now have a hard wood floor, all my things are away in bins, clothes were in the dryer on high for an hour, and all my furniture has been tossed out (properly).

My PCO has come by this past Saturday and sprayed the room and said it looked fine and I can start moving back in this weekend if I wanted to. Which won't happen because I'm still going to repaint it and order new furniture. I still feel skeptical about the whole situation though. Just yesterday I was cleaning my walls and such to set up to paint and I decided to check near my heater that runs along one of my walls. I pulled the endcap off and I noticed an adult bed bug was sitting in there. It looked dead until I touched it. It was struggling and it was flat (so it hasn't eaten obviously). I don't expect them to just disappear but I know they should be slowly dying now.

Overall, even when I move back in I still won't feel comfortable. It sucks because these things ruined my life when it comes to my room! It's just something in the back of my head that I will always have them.

BBB - Please read much more on this site. Your PCO sprays once and says it's okay to return to normal a week later???? This is highly suspect. My unreasoned, untactful, from-the-gut opinion - your PCO's a fool and if what he says turns out to be true it is only through sheer luck.

    BBB,
FOF is right the current standard is 2 months before you can safely declare victory. That means keeping clothing bagged and sealed for the duration. Also, did this pco tell you to sleep in the treated room? If you don't sleep in the treated room, the bugs will just stay in hiding and not cross the pesticides and therefore not die.Unfortunately you have to sleep there as bait to get them to come out.Good luck

Yes very important to get back to sleep in that room ASAP or the bugs may go dormant, or move to another APT. & I’m sure return to you as well. They can sense the presence of humans up to 90 feet away. One thing I would suggest is hold off on the paint! You could very well paint right over the residual that you want there.

I forgot to mention that this is not my first treatment. I have gotten treatments a few times months ago.
