PCO coming for treatment on Monday
(1 post)-
All -
I live in an old house that has 5 units. A PCO is coming on Monday to treat. They said they have been treating bed bugs for almost 2 decades and specialize in bed bugs and multi-unit buildings. This is the proposed treatment:
1. Liquid residual treatment of baseboards (Suspend).
2. Dust residual treatment of deep cracks and crevices and perhaps baseboards where applicable (Tri-Die).
3. Aerosol contact treatment of infested furniture where applicable and any other visibly infested areas or areas that are suspected to be infested (Steri-Fab).
4. Steaming/spraying couches.-Steaming of mattress and box springs and immediate Protect-A-Bed encasement
I am supposed to bagging/heating clothing and linens prior to treatment; then bag in zip lock or air tight bags. (I was thinking about putting in those giant zip lock bags, then in either contractor bags or plastic containers and then putting in storage until this whole ordeal is over - is that a good idea or should I bring back to the apartment?)
Empty all dressers, remove pictures from walls, shelves from walls and stand mattress/box spring up right.
They will come back 2-3 times, or until they finally go away. Also, depending on the full extent of my infestation they will look at the other apartments but may not treat unless they think it is necessary (they specialize in treating multi-unit buildings).
He told me to get a packtite but between the cost of everyhing, I just dont have the resources.
I'm relatively new to the idea of bed bugs - this sounds good to me but any thoughts?
