    Hi Everyone ….
I am not against carpet tape … But if you still have bugs, you may, at least, want to take some thin rope i.e. twine, like the kind one would rap around one's finger to help them remember something, and tie it extremely tightly in the middle of the carpet tape on the bedposts. This is if you are not using anything but carpet tape.
i.e. vasaline as well in the middle of the tape on each bed post. Taping down the ends of the carpet tape with masking tape to make it air tight also works.
It is so that no “slim-jim pin, head sized baby” or some very determined adult bed bug--might slip past.
I do not know ... I have put bed bugs on carpet tape and seen them not only walk across it but also turn around and try to go back the way they came. OK it was one bed bug ... a fifth in star or a young adult--not sure.
Anyway--good luck with it--I will also be posting a copy of this in a thread, as, I think it is important.

    This occurred easily.
I watched, as the Bed bug picked up it’s feet, and dragged itself across the tape.
This was rather easily done by the bug.

It was daylight and the bug was determined to escape… I’d imagine, a hungry bed bug might have the same will and determination on a bed post—if not more.

Willow, that carpet tape you're talking about - is it the kind that's actually more like a thin fiber mesh? Like sticky woven strings? That's the kind I found at Home Depot and was planning to use.

Hi … No ... a mesh might give them even more of a traction area to pull them across the tape. This was double stick and it looked like thick roll of straw colored masking tape. King Frost is a good brand--I'm told. I just got the last roll the hardware store had--it had no name on it. But still ... it was quite sticky and the bed bug was debilitated yet made its way across way too fast for me! it went almost into the middle then turned around and went back the other way.
All in less than a minute and all with only like six or seven movements of its front paws--or what ever they are called.
    Scary huh!
Food for thought not for bed bugs!
That’s another be bug killing slogan that I have …

My favorite one is I am the bait that does not want to get bit. And the most popular as of late is “There is more than one way to skin (kill) a bed bug …
Bites = life and more Bed bugs down the road.

    To all New Bites:

Never, anyone, all of you (as best as you can)--Nope … never ,,,
Never skimp on bed isolation stuff nor on other measures ….

Even if you’re infestation is “small” “light” or “unseen” or what have you—“not a good plan, stan.” Who can really say for sure how large their infestation is/was.?
Use the best tools money can buy—when and as you can. Money was a real issue for me. I literally went hungry for a while and was glad to do it, so I could do laundry properly and get supplies ASAP..

Stay diligent for a good month or more after the last sign you see or sneaking suspicion you may be having.

Funny a lot of us that have won the battle find it hard to go back to the way things were.
For me (and so too, I here … this true for Coqibug):

Bed isolation is like going to be the wave of the future. I’m all for that, for sure … And I’ll never take my bed isolation stuff off! I’ll never hang my clothing as I had in the pre- bed bug days—not until they are removed from the planet (as was Polio).
Polio--another shock and disgrace, created by over-crowding (((( imho))))

BTW … I know a lady (about sixty) … she is like one of the very last of the era of those folks unfortunate to have contracted Polio before the shot was mandatory in her school…. Donno … And …. she is, the OLNY person I have ever met with polio
    Bed bug vaccines anyone?
There must be some way to create a cream or a shot—someone will hopefully get to that magic pill sooner than later.
    Best all … Willow :)

Carpet tape has kept me together for the past couple months, which is why I haven't posted too much. I have the Duck brand because it's the only brand I've seen in the two stores I FINALLY was able to find it in. I just bought some more a few days ago and it seems like it's even stronger (for "heavily used areas") than my previous type- whatever that type was called. Yes, some bugs can totally move around on it. I have yet to see an "escape" before my very eyes, though. I have not caught any bed bugs, though of course I can't confirm bed bugs here. Still, I do itch a bita few days a week. Last week my landlord sprayed with something called Home Defense Max. It's not meant for BBs, but that's ok since I've still got a whole host of other insects. Joyous. But I've got to say that the tape makes me less "nutty," and more aware of what's out there crawling around! Even if it's not 100% effective, better with it than without!
