I just got my Packtite today - hooray!
First I wanted to bake my jewelry box, as I have not been able to wear jewelry in 8 months because it has been sealed up. I opened the box up, put it on the shelf, and put the thermometer in one of the drawers, which was actually open. after about half an hour, the temp was up to 150. I checked again, and the thermometer just read "HHHHH". I assume that means hot. so i turned it off, but is the jewelry box properly baked? help...

Did you put the sensor end in the drawer or did you put the entire lcd screen part inside the packtite? 150 will clean up bed bugs pretty quickly, so your jewelery box should be debugged. If you have the lcd screen outside the unit and the probe inside, I imagine you just have a faulty thermometer. I will pm you with my email.

I had the probe inside, and the thermometer outside. I tried it again, and stuffed the probe into a plush ring holder, and it went up to 150 again in about 45 minutes. I think it is well baked. But is it ok to bake stuff at 150, or should I turn it off when it reached 150? I am putting a wood end table in there now, it should heat up pretty fast as its just bare wood.

150 is fine, keep in mind that many sauna's reach temperatures of 180+. Let me know if the thermometer keeps acting up, we can send you a new one. I'll pm you my personal email.
