PackTite heat loss solved; company owner very helpful; good product
(2 posts)-
I had some questions and emailed the company. I received a prompt call back from one of the owners who gave me his phone number to contact him if I had further questions. I did end up calling him several times, and he was very nice, even answering my Saturday calls. My unit didn't appear to heat up properly, and David told me a few things to try, eventually solving my problem. What we learned was that it's good to have a blanket or something under the PackTite so you won't lose heat from the unit. I had hardwood floors and a basement under my unit and that's why it didn't heat up properly; the unit was working fine otherwise. David kept working with me until he solved my problem, which I really appreciated.

It sounds like this might be a good idea in your specific situation -- where the room below the floor the packtite on is very cold. But it might not be a good idea for everyone. For example, others may not want to insulate the packtite in this way. It might be too hot.
Hopefully David will weigh in.
