Can anyone advise where these can be purchased on line for the best price? Looking to buy one but golly they are pricey!
Thanks -
It is a highly specialized gadget and you won't find it for much less no matter how hard you look.

In your experience is it worth the investment?

It's still a slow process because each batch takes about 4 hours...but it's a huge help! You can save a lot on dry cleaning bills, and the only alternative for me to debug my books/papers, shoes, hats etc would be a hairdryer. It's given me tremendous peace of mind. I know that anything I put in there is REALLY bug free. When I bought it ...I thought...hey, I can always resell it later and get some $ back. I don't know how much I'll use it in the future...I don't travel too often. I'm not sure what I'll eventually do with it...maybe loan it out to other victims.

I'm curious as to how big the thing is and does it fold down small for storage? I am trying to grasp how much stuff I can put in it and if it is worth buying as opposed to dry cleaning. Like about how many garments can you put in there at one 4 hour setting?

debgub,
Click the Packtite "tag" above right and you will see other discussions of the device.
concernedmom,
The best deal I am aware of is going through the links to NorthShore (USBedbugs) and entering the code BBFREE for free shipping. This helps support our site but does not cost you extra.

It's designed to hold an airplane carry on. The maximum size carry on. It's pretty big, and takes up a lot my sq, so it's aprox 3 feet long and 2 feet wide and 2 feet tall. I'm not being super accurate, but I think that's close. I've left mine up even though no bites since May, maybe going back to April, but I still cook things (although less) as I slowly re-enter the world of normal.
It continues to give me peace of mind and I commute to work by bus most days and sometimes I get freaked about bb on the bus and cook my purse and shopping bags. In the worst of my infestation when I got the Packtite it immediately gave me confidence about wearing shoes, belts, having a purse instead of a ziplock (sad, eh?) reading a book...I was able to knit, I could feel confident, as in the post above, that those items were bug free.

I bought a packtite and I really like it. I have used it on books, purses, shoes, knitting supplies, stuffed animals, my pet's carry cases, baskets, etc. It's really great for when I need to give something to someone else, and I need to ensure that the items are BB free. To give an idea of the size, you can put an xl ziploc or an xxl ziploc filled with items in the packtite. As for storage, you need at least as much room as the footprint of the packtite, because the bottom section is stationary and does not fold. The top does fold down and the fabric outside can come off and be folded or thrown in the drier to heat treat for BBs. Once folded down, I would say the height is about 6 to 8". As others mentioned, the width and length are about 2' x 3'. I'm sure if you click on one of the website links here, you can get the exact dimensions.
