Common being: Hotels, homeless shelters, tenants living around you, or a building which is infested by them from the gecko.

I think I posted something similar in what I'm about to say a while ago. There appears to be a trend in common ways that Bed Bugs are spreading and this is a run down.

Those who have children who are in day cares or the junior years of school as they usually have playtimes, or where clothing and bags are clustered together making it easy for bed bugs to travel to whomever cloths, bags.

Another common way which I've noticed reading threads on this forum is furniture from Craig's List, despite the warnings mentioned numerous times people still are buying furniture from Craig's List or picking it out of garbage. There is a reason why it's in the Garbage, and as for Craig's List the person selling the furniture wants money or knows theres bed bugs and wants to get rid of it for money. If you are low on income and can't afford brand new furniture from a place that is guaranteed to not have bed bugs then instead of buying or picking up anything free, save up until you can or finance some furniture from a well known place.

If you do the math you may save yourself $400 off a new sofa but add the cost of $1000 or more to get rid of bed bugs on top of the Sofa you bought used from wherever or Craig's List and that $200 Sofa is now gonna cost you $1200 or more.

If you buy furniture used from someone, check the furniture out before you buy it and ask them that usually omits buying furniture from Craig's List because there are people out there who are selling furniture that don't have bed bugs and you can get yourself a real steel but it's like finding a needle in a haystack you have to be cautious and ask the people "have you ever had bed bugs ? "Do you know what they are ?" If they can honestly tell you more information on Bed bugs then you know or they know what the symptoms are then there could be a good chance that what there going to sell you is perfectly clean and is worth buying.

I don't want to say everyone has bed bugs and destroy chances of those selling furniture. All I'm saying is don't buy from Craig's List and when you buy from someone ask questions, check the furniture out.

Here are some most common overlooked methods I've noticed people getting Bed Bugs from.

If you have young Children or Children under 17. I would be cautious because they are sharing lockers and even if there not sharing lockers, bed bugs, roaches etc can crawl very easy and hide in clothes, bags etc. Never underestimate those two dangerous bugs especially the worst of them all BED BUGS, I would worry about spiders at all unless you live in an area where there are dangerous ones which, for most is not common.

You can get bed bugs from Transit Buses, Subways, trying on other peoples clothes before washing, peoples cars so if you take a ride from someone, and there car has bed bugs you could bring some home.

Transit buses and Subways can have bed bugs the most common way you may pick them up is when Subways and Buses are crowded and someone has them on there clothes, bags and they crawl onto you and you don't know it. Uncrowded Subways and Transit buses the odds are reduced quite a bit as it's common logic, it's not crowded, I'd also refrain from sitting by people if you can or sitting at all on buses and subways just to give yourself that solid feeling that you won't have to worry that something crawled onto you. Remember young bed bugs can be very small and hide easily in a seam corner of a pocket the same can be said for roaches as well but this messages focus is on bed bugs.

As well as going to someones house who has them is another way to pick them up, for example your friend has them, you go to their house you sit on their sofa, their sofa has bed bugs you bring them home or on there bed this is common if you have a lot of partners or your partner has bed bugs.

As you can see from this FYI that what you've read from this information should open the doors to NEW possibilities on how bed bugs can spread and you should be careful and educate yourself but also educate yourself on what different common bugs look like because what you think may be a bed bug could be a carpet beetle or something else.
