opening ziplocks

So, you go on your trip, and you ziplock everything (I'm trying to do a practice run). Here is a question for the old timers, can you feel safe opening and closing a ziplock? I.E. You have your socks in a bag, can you open it get a pair out and close again, or once you open a bag its over? I don;t know if this sounds crazy, this is just the first time I will be taking a trip since I have become "BB Aware".
