I have an important race that requires I wake up at 4.30 AM EST tomorrow. We had a treatment (2nd) on Wednesday, but I got a classic three pattern bite on my right arm after sleeping on a cot in the living room (for the past month or so). Should I pull a quick one on the bugs and sleep in my bedroom on the cot? on the bedroom matress? I need full sleep tonight!!!

    Rather,

I don't think it matters much--there are some bed bugs in your home (maybe a lot, I don't know) and they know where people sleep. They can walk from one room to another, so just sleep where you feel comfortable. If the bed is unprotected, and the mattress not encased, then that may have more bed bugs on it, you'll have to think about that.

    Good luck on your race!

BUT tomorrow, I want you to think about this: I know we told you (and the FAQS told you) NOT to sleep anywhere but your own bed. To protect it and encase it so you aren't bitten, but to sleep there. The reason is that if you do not, the bed bugs might not come out, make contact with poisons, and die. In the room is enough--I don't think you have to be in the bed. But if you are not sleeping in the bedroom, and are in the LR instead, not only did you maybe already spread them to the LR, but the ones in the BR could be lying in wait. Maybe they all followed, but we don't know. Best to sleep in the bedroom from now on.

Fine with me. The the futon (its a loft bed) is now encased in a mattress condom (has been since we knew we had bugs).

yes matress condoms can be useful, I feel, at certain times. During an infestaion is one of the best times. Leaving the bed protected, thus dragging the whole affair out, as long as possible, as such, is recommended--18 months of protected bed for all bed bug sufferers!
Every time they bite the females lay an average of 4.79 eggs or there abouts, you kow ... or so I've heard. This is with or without bed "protection."
A blood meal is energy--and more little baby blood sucking energy zappers!
