One Bite after 7 months? Could it be?
(3 posts)-
So I haven't had a sign of the BBs since December, since the landlord got the PCO to spray my apartment's baseboards every month--with Demand and, I think, Suspend. Not sure about that last one. Anyway, last month I was away and missed the PCO spraying. I hoped I could go two months without it. (The BBs came from a very infested neighbor, who also gets exterminated, but may still have them.)
7 months! I was feeling GREAT! Now I have this bite on my ankle. I noticed it last night while at work.
It is one single bite. It is on my ankle, not my upper body where they always preferred. When I had bites on my neck it was like a burning hot rash, very pink, and you could see multiple bite marks. Also, the neck bites were very obvious first thing in the AM, and this one I didn't notice until the evening.
This bite is red, a slight bump, with a visible bite mark in the center, and it's quite itchy.
Could this be the return of the BBs? Or does it sound like something else? The PCO doesn't come again until next Friday. HELP!

Try to be calm because you don't *necessarily* have bed bugs again, and the majority of people posting here on bedbugger.com who are scared they have bed bugs turn out not to have them.
Some of the things it could be other than bed bugs are mosquitoes, fleas, mites, scabies, lice, prickly hairs on carpet beetle larvae, poison ivy, folliculitis, allergies, psychosomatic.
Watch for arthropods and if you see any, catch them in a jar or on sticky tape then take an up-close sharp clear photo including a ruler or coin or whatever for size comparison and post it here for, usually, a fairly quick ID by experts.

Thank you for the reassurance! It's hard not to freak out. I got some passive monitors, too, so maybe that will give me peace of mind--as long as nothing shows up on them.
