First of all, I have been reading this site for the past month! Thank you to all the wonderful information.
I have been phobic of bedbugs since hearing about their resurgence. But now...! It started about a month ago, I noticed I had a bite on my the inside of my elbow. A day or so later, I noticed two spots on my neck. I could not decide if they were bites or pimples since they did not seem to itch so much...unlike the bite on my arm. I am a runner and often get bug bites, but this was mid October!

I started to think, hmmm Bed bugs?? So I read some info on this site as well as others. I went to a three week class outside of the country for work/school. Given that I just had bed bugs on the brain, I searched my living quarters 4x during my three week stay. I noticed nothing and I also noticed no new bites.

I got home late Sunday evening. While I was away, I had my husband buy the mattress cases for both the mattress and box springs. He did a search of the mattresses and area and come up with nothing. All the while my Phobia and fears were growing!

Ok, so I came home on Sunday. All clothes went into the washer/dryer. Nothing came straight into the house. So today, I go to campus sit in my usual sit and drove the car (husband had been driving up until this point). I had not done these things in 4 weeks! After being home for 2 to 3 hours, my rear end started to itch. I look in the mirror and notice two bites with about an itch between them. Oh nos!
Grant it today, I wore jeans and underwear. I have to ask myself and thus you guys, Did the bites come from the chair? my car? my home?

Before I left, I noticed these bites after my drive to and my stay on campus. I am freaking out because I would hate to think that sat in a chair that had BB and I have brought them home and/or CAR!! After noticing the bites, I washed my clothes on hot water and dried them. I also vacuumed living rooms.

Could BB bite through my jeans and possibly the pocket as well as my underwear?
    Advice please?

I have bought step ups for my bed and will pull my bed away for the wall as an early warning system.

I should mention that my husband drives the car way more than I do and has had no problem. I also know that everyone is different. I am the only person in the house having bites. The husband and child are fine, but as I have read every immune system is different.

Since there are other things that can cause your "bites" it's difficult to to determine based on skin reactions alone. One thing to note, if it is bedbug bites, just because you noticed them after you were sitting in the car or your chair wearing jeans, doesn't mean they occurred at those times. Bites can be delayed from several hours to several days. But at this point, I don't think you can say, "Yes it's bedbugs." You may want to invest in passive monitor and start looking for evidence of bugs and of course, read the FAQs (if you haven't already) so you know what to look for. If you find evidence or don't trust your searching skills, a professional may help identify or give you peace of mind. If you don't find anything, you may want to consider some other things that could be causing your problem. - Best

Thanks for the reply. At this point, I am really hoping that its my fears and imagination running wild, I have bought the step ups for my bed and will install them.
I do not trust my searching skills and live in an apartment. I am considering informing them. One thing that me nervous as well is that birds have often nested in our overhang outside of our bedroom window. They have stopped recently because a raccoon moved in and was removed by management. I have read a bit about bird mites and am wondering if that is the problem.

Please first suspect it to be folliculitis. Google images can show you some examples.
