Can bites not itch, even when previous bites in that very area did?

I've not had a 'traditional' (for me) bite in AT LEAST 3+weeks. This evening my roommate and I carefully took out a faux-leather computer chair I decided to trash (it was beside the bed-- which seems clear), and I spent a little while ripping it up and tearing it, so no one would take it. I came inside, sat down at my desk and felt a little pinch on my shoulder, just above where I once had quite a few bites. It immediately came up as a small white welt. I changed immediately, steamed the crap out of my mesh/plastic computer chair and scratched at the bite to see if it would come up. It stayed a small, sort of welt, and hasn't itched at ALL throughout a vigorous vacuuming campaign (we were in the process of) and a HOT shower. No more welt, small red bump (looks like old bites), and STILL no itch.

What could cause a bump but no itch like that??

Hi Emmm - I've had bites that don't itch, however usually a hot shower will make my skin react.

I don't have a good suggestion, but thought by answering, I could bring your question back to the top of the forum.

Spidyjg would probably have an answer!
