Got Bed Bugs? Bedbugger Forums » Detection / Identification of bed bugs
No idea if I have some bedbugs or not.

Heya folks, I've been getting a lot of bug bites on my ankles, just my ankles and my right one much more than my left. I thought it might be bedbugs but I have found zero bloodstains or fecal stains or bugs them selves, I've seen nothing flying around and I've checked all over and under my couch, bed, and computer chair which is pretty much the only three places I'm stationary in my apartment. I've checked through my clothes, nothing, I literally cant find a trace of anything, I found what looked like an earwig in my shower the other day but it was gone before I could catch it and I saw an ant a few days ago on my table but those literally the only bugs I've seen in my apartment in quite some time. Is there anything else I could be looking for? Thanks in advance for your help

Hello, VoidSong:
People develop bite-like reactions to a variety of allergens and irritants. People's reactions to bed bug bites vary. So bites on your ankle do not necessarily mean you've been bitten by bed bugs and it does not necessarily mean you're getting bit at home.
Bed bugs do not fly or jump. Fleas do jump and tend to bite further down. It's been discussed that homes without pets can sometimes have fleas, they can be detected using "plug in flea traps".
Are your reactions increasing over time, or pretty steady (if the latter, you do not seem to have a growing infestation).
Two excellent sources of information that will help you determine or rule out a bed bug infestation are our FAQ http://bedbugger.com/faqs/ and a comprehensive guide from the Resources section, like this one http://www.michigan.gov/documents/emergingdiseases/Bed_Bug_Manual_v1_full_reduce_326605_7.pdf
I hope the irritation subsides and you get to the bottom of things.
