    HELP!

I don't know where to begin. I live in Chicago suburbs and fear we have a bb infestation

Back in June I was in bed and on the phone around 3am and saw a critter scurry across the screen (sick). My natural reaction was to squish it and a crazy amount of blood came out. I work in a lab and am familiar with the consistency of blood, definitely not guts but blood.

Due to the darkness of the room and the light of the phone all I could see was the silhouette of the insect, round/oval and tiny. Not arachnid, only six legs.

We left for Europe one week later, leaving my cats in the apartment for the next 7 weeks (don't worry they had a sitter). No bites in Europe.

Now I am really freaked out...

One week upon return I had one "bite" on my finger that I could only notice because it really itched for a couple days but no redness or swelling...just a tiny bump that was pimple-sized. Husband and I have had no other bites since then.

I've discovered these stains that I can only assume are from bb. Searching the box spring I only found one area with a rust-colored stains, and the window sill in the living room where the cats lay has stains also. The ones on the window sill come off with just a wet paper towel and a bit of rubbing, and do leave a light brownish stain on the paper towel. Is that how bb feces rubs off of a painted surface???

Please help! We live in a fairly large apartment complex and don't even know where to start!!!
Haven't seen another bug or even casing in my inspections but I am so so scared and overwhelmed already. Please help!

Mmmh... I doubt a BB is able to walk across a phone screen.

    No.

Pics are too small to be sure but, iMHO, spots are not BB related

The phone was laying on the bed since I was surfing internet, and it does have a case.

I will add another photo with a coin for reference for a better idea.

    Thanks for the response!

I added a penny to the window sill photo and retook the box spring photo, saving it in a larger size this time. Hope this helps, I truly appreciate any advise I can get. Thanks again.

I would really appreciate it if anyone could take a look at these photos that I posted of possible fecal stains.

    Thanks

I know you're hopping for a definitive answer, but I don't think anyone can tell from these photos...it could be anything at this point. Sorry, but let us know if you find anything else.

    Thanks, Amy.

You are right, and I understand what I've provided is insufficient. I'm trying to calm myself.

I'm calling my landlord today regarding a pro inspection, terminex provides one for free, but I need to see if the apt. complex is contracted with anyone before I arrange this. Hopefully LL will work with me and not assume I'm losing my marbles, which is exactly how I feel. Being crazy would actually be better than being infested though haha.

I'll just have to go from there I guess. I'm restraining from cleaning like a mad woman to preserve any evidence a pro would need to give me an answer, or from spreading the nasty things if I do have them. Although from what I've read my pets have probably taken care of that anyways.

I will give updates. Thanks for listening, I think that may help more than anything.
