New feature: "Related Topics"
(8 posts)-
You will notice a new feature as you surf the forums today: "Related Topics."
Above each topic, you will now see a listed of related topics (i.e. other threads which are highly likely to be related).
Scroll up now and have a look-see. Not pretty, but functional!
What's great about this is that although tags contribute to the information used to determine which threads are related, they are not necessary for this feature to work.
For example, this thread is untagged, but snagged a number of related topics.
Nevertheless, including simple single word and multi-word tags, separated by commas, when you post a new thread will help and is always encouraged. More on tags here.
Enjoy the magic!
As always, things may go wrong. Let me know if you have any complaints. Email me or send a PM if you really prefer it.

Oh, and if you read this, please holla back, so we keep it active for a day or two. It's an important memo for everyone to get and I don't want to rush to "hide" it in the green stickies. :-p

I like this feature a lot. I think it will help a lot of new people that are frantically searching for information and have success finding maybe half the answers that they need. As usual, great thinking Nobugs!

Thanks, Paula!

"bump"
Nobugs, I'm thinking functional can be a beautiful thing. I think its a great feature and will use it. When I've initiated a topic, I often forget to add the tags. This will remedy that gratuitous oversight. You know... as long as I'm not blackly depressed and hanging out with the bugs in the cracks and crevices!

Nobugs - it is great! Now it will be much easier to find a thread I remember reading in the past. This website is a godsend for learning what actions to take, what works, etc. Thank you.

No probs, bugbait and LJ!
Remember, tags make the "related topics" work better. But yes -- it is nice to know they work without.
