Help.....I need to find a good PCO in Connecticut, preferably in the Waterbury, Meriden, Danbury area....
I have bugs....they have been here for about a month...I wasn't absolutely sure until about a week ago..... -
I know a company called *** I think located on Long Island that does Connecticut area, but I seriously would not use them if I were you... Just in case you saw their name, please do yourself a favor... go to the next one

ADMIN'S NOTE: name of Bugboy911's competitor deleted.Bugboy911, this is NOT good. You are a PCO in the same market. Do you really want to make statements that could cause people to take legal action against you? It's you they would be suing, by the way, but I don't want the hassle of a subpoena.
It is ONE thing, and perfectly fine, for a customer to tell us on the forums what a particular named PCO did for them, truthfully, and for others to decide to use or not to use them.
It is quite another thing for a local PCO to tell people not to use a competitor -- especially without stating a factual basis for this.
Please do not do this again. You have gotten multiple warnings about your behavior on the forums, both on the forums and in PMs from me.

Since someone asked on another thread if reviews are allowed here, I want to be really clear that it is fine to name PCOs you have used and to truthfully tell us specifically what your service was like as a customer, whether positive or negative.
I am not a lawyer, but my understanding if you are in the USA, at least, free speech reviews are protected, though you do need to tell the truth. (In some countries, the laws on defamation may vary.)
PCOs have made statements on the forums about particular treatment methods they do not agree with -- and why, and this too seems to be perfectly fine.
A blanket statement of a negative nature such as that above, offered without giving any factual details, seems problematic to me. That it's written by a competitor makes it even more problematic, for obvious reasons.

Any recommendations for Connecticut???
-
I was asked but I don't know of any i could recommend. I'm sure there are some NY companies doing work in CT but I don't have a clue.

Nobugs - Quest pest control works in CT - I've spoken to Charlie the owner several times and he seems knowledgeable and is a SUPER sweet nice person to talk to
he is not licensed in NY - at least at the time I spoke to him - so I did not hire him for work
but based on the conversations I had with him - and knowing that i COULD NOT hire him - i was very impressed with the time he took to speak to me
I would try him if I lived in CT - he also has 2 k-9's as well

Thanks, Adele.
Maybe csachin will tell us how they're doing.

Sorry, I haven't been on for a while so I didn't see this post. Luckily someone else recommended who I would have. I'll post my success story soon, but this part applies to this question. After fighting my infestation in central CT w/ a very friendly, confident and nice, but totally incompetent PCO, who cost me a lot of time, money and sanity. I should un-recommend this guy who treated us originally, but he was so nice, it makes me feel bad, maybe he'll get training. If you PM me I'll tell you his name. The worst part was that this first PCO acted like he knew everything and made me rely on his information that put other people in danger. We finally went ahead with tenting and Vikaning my house.
Then an acquaintance ended up with bedbugs, I was so nervous that conventional pest treatment could not handle an infestation, but they did not have the money to tent (who does, really?). I did as much research as I could and ended up telling them to use Charlie Mastroberti at Qwest pest control. He has two dogs, so one confirmed where the other had barked. I was very skeptical because the dogs alerted at a bed where bites were newly happening, but not where they had been happening all along. He told my friend that sometimes if the bugs are in the middle of a big bed the dogs can't sniff all the way to the middle so he treated all the places bites happened, not just where the dogs alerted.
He gave my friend good instructions, better than we got, and did the extra things like dusting outlets and covering the mattresses. He told my friend that he only needed to do one treatment. I told her not to believe him, that he needed to do at least two treatments, but he said he would come back and do more if she needed it. Well, it's been about 6 mos. (I think) and their whole family reacts to bites, and there have been no more bites or symptoms, so I guess this guy knows what he was doing. So I would recommend Charlie and Qwest. I'm still skeptical of one treatment, maybe they just got lucky, but he absolutely got rid of my friend's infestation and seemed to know what he was doing.
