Howdy folks. :) I'd say I'm happy to meet you and be here, but I'm not. I'm not happy to be here, and I'm not happy you have to be here, either.

I recently went on a few business trips with a coworker and friend who told me a few weeks later that they'd been battling a bad bed bug problem in their house. I didn't share a room with this coworker, however, we did share some clothing items (sweaters). Additionally, while on one of the trips, I woke up my first morning there with a handful of small bites. The management immediately moved me to a new room, but I wasn't diligent about checking my luggage when I came home from that trip, because I was uneducated on just how big of a problem these BBs are.

Well, last night, my husband and I found a few strange bugs. Some were burrowed into the very thick, fleecy fabric of a spa bathrobe I'd had sitting in a corner of my closet for a couple of months now. That sent me scurrying over to the bed. After turning over our mattress, we found about three more of the little creatures.

I've been pouring through numerous pictures online trying to identify them. I can't tell if they are BB nymphs or something else. Right now, I'm leaning toward black carpet beetle larvae. They are oval and round, definitely not flat. I can't quite remember the color, but I believe they were a gray and black color, and it looked like they had many, many legs and either a stinger, pincher, or little hairs at the back end. They didn't appear to be interested in my skin--instead, they just wanted to burrow into something and get away from me. I plan on going on a thorough search this evening, to see if i can find more of the bugs and get one to a pest control place to identify.

Anyhow, it's amazing how prevalent BBs have become in the past few years. I hope they come up with some sort of safe and effective method of dealing with them soon!

    hmmm. . hard to say.
I wonder what other bugs would be doing accumulating under your mattress?

bbs tend to be brown/reddish color. They can look alot like an apple sead at certain stages.

any other signs? streaks that can look like a sharpy was taken to your bed linens?

Here's to hoping you do not have these awful things!
