nervous...IDing bugs
(3 posts)-
I've been on here before for scares, and turned out to be wrong, thankfully. That was always based on bite-like reactions that made me concerned, not on any finds. I did run into them on a trip once but followed a scorched earth policy and avoided bringing them home.
Today I just found a bug that looks like a bed bug. I haven't had any bites, and I found it in the kitchen, of all places, crawling across the floor in broad daylight. But I'm a little nervous. We just got a new-to-us kitchen table from a work acquaintance yesterday.
I can't get a good picture as I moved about a month ago and still have not found my camera charger. I tried to take a pic with my ipod touch but it's mega blurry. I messaged Lou to see if I could send him 'the sample'. But is there anything else I could do with 'the sample'?
I'm really freaking out. I live in an apartment, but I'm not even clear what the laws in MA are like about that. I have had a number of people I knew (but whose homes I did not go in) have bed bugs lately so I know they are in the area.

Hi,
If you have a flat bed scanner you can get a great resolution shot to upload and its beats the post.
The other options are using magnifying lenses along with the camera which can give amazing detail.
Hope that helps.

I sadly don't have a scanner or a magnifying glass.
I did some research, and it looks like in MA landlord are responsible for treatment. I'm going to wait till my roommate, who has lived here longer, gets home and ask her advice on what to do.
There is a bed bug beagles place not too too far from me - I suppose I could drive the bug over and have them look at it? i haven't a clue.
