    Hi Guys,

I found a bug looks pretty like a bedbug. You can access the picture here:

Can anyboby help me to identify if it is a bedbug? So scared about it.

    Thanks very much!

    Hi,

    100% not bedbug.

I think you will find its a pigeon tick but I would wait a little later in the day for a entomologist to confirm.

    David,

Thank you so much. I can sleep right now. In your opinion, probly it is a lonely traveler, not a nest of bugs, right?

Thanks again and expect your finding.

    Hi,

I don't know enough about the behaviour of that species to give an accurate opinion as its not UK native.

The chances are that it's lost from its "normal" food source, it's certainly worthy of investigation but there is point in trying to do that in the middle of the night.

Pigeon ticks are a species of 'soft tick'. This is definitely a soft tick, but to me the body shape looks wrong to be a pigeon tick. I am 90% sure this is actually a swallow tick (Ornithodoros concanensis). They tend to associated with swallow nests. Does that fit with where you found it?

Look at the picture and realize that it has 4 pairs of legs, not 3, and you really don't see a discernible head and antennae. Host bird would be needed to help with identification and I have to side with Richard here.

Thank you all guys. I am not sure if there is a swallow nest since I haven't moved in yet. I just found this bug when I was doing room check. I will keep an eye on this and once I find some sort of nests or other useful information, I will post it here.

Thank you all again and have a good one.

Amazing photos of cliff swallow nests posted here yesterday: http://bedbugger.com/forum/topic/great-forum-could-you-advise-on-bedbug-vs-swallow-bug-infestation-newbie#post-140831

Other types of swallows' nests look different -- the poster noted that barn swallow nests have wide openings.
