I was just walking around my house, 9pm, and somehow noticed in the mirror that there was a little dot on my back. I had to scrap this thing off my fingernail! I put it in a ziplock, its still alive. I just had Terminix here yesterday and they did Rapid Freeze and dusted, could this be a BB?! It doesn't quite look like one, but im not an expert! It left a red welt, not itchy yet.

It's an engorged tick for sure. Not sure about what kind cuz it is cuz it's engorged. Possible deer tick.

It takes about 3-6wks for lymes disease to show up on a test. If you start to get flu like symptoms go to the Dr and get tested. Some people get a large bulls eye mark days-weeks after a tick bite with lyme, some people get no mark at all. I would get tested in about a month or so just to be on the safe side.

In the future if you find a bug on you or in the home please get it ID'd before doing ANY type of treatment. I think you just wasted a lot of money and time if you paid for it.

PS: not a PCO or professional, just lay person that has encountered ticks at one time or another

Thanks Paul- looks exactly like a deertick:

I didn't have Terminix come by for this- I had them come by yesterday because we had a confirmed BB in the bed. It was just very unfortunate timing that this tick showed up the day after we had Terminix come in! It feels like someone is playing a cruel joke on me... :/

Good luck and hang in there on the bed bug problem. I guess the good news is you aren't wasting the $$$ on a tick. One thing for sure, when you're way past the bed bug problem you will definitely have at least a little knowledge on at least 10-15 different bugs! Best to you.
