    Hey,

So it's been months, maybe 2, 3 or 4 months so far. It's basically been a while since I found the bed bugs in a room of my house behind a picture frame crawling around. We called a PCO and got it taken care of immediately and sprayed the whole room twice. The bugs have not been seen nor has eggs of it or it's skin. Nothing showed. It's been months so far and I'm still getting these marks and red patches all over my body. Whenever I'm under high temperature after taking a warm shower, working out with lifting weights or sometimes it'll be after I go inside from the rain. Anyway after these specific times, what shows on my skin at random places are what seems to look like blade scratch scars and puffy blade-like scratch scars that eventually disappear but appear again later on.
It's been like this for like what seems forever. What needs to be done? I've also been using baby powder on my skin for it's easier on my skin and lower's the itching.

Please, any feedback or ANY help at all would be very helpful please.

    ~ Thank You!

    P.S. Please Respond!

The conditions you describe are often reported by BB sufferes but I have not seen anything that identifies much less any remediation for this.

The only thing found and proven is the hairs from carpet beetle larvae David demonstrated caused a bite like reaction on a person.

Speculation is that the skin has been hyper sensitized and reacts to slight irritations.
Possible leftover casting material in the dust of the house, sensitization to pesticides, hyper sensitization to insects in general so anything trigger a reaction, or some other mystery are all plausible.

It is a baffling mystery that I don't know if anyone is researching the cause.

See a dermatologist. I know several different people who demonstrate reactions similar to yours after showering, working out, etc... It's almost like they're allergic to something that's produced by their skin when they get wet or sweat.

I don't have any feedback as to what it could be since the people I know who do have this similar reaction have just accepted it as a fact of life and not seen a doctor for it but if it bothers you to the point that you're concerned about it being bed bugs, I would see a dermatologist or allergist. They can perform and allergy profile and determine what you are allergic to and maybe identify the cause.

    Hi,

I would advise you to keep a record of where on the body these occur to see if it is the same location or different ones.

If they occur in the same location then it may be that the reaction is due to the environment , bites will often appear more aggressive if you get over heated or as a result of environmental pollution.

If the locations change then it may be as a result of other factors such as interaction with fibers such as the carpet beetle situation that some mistake for bed bugs.

The easiest way to check is visual inspection of the sleeping area for any fresh signs of bed bugs such as:

    • Live samples
    • Cast Skins
    • Faecal Traces

I would however say never assume its bed bugs based on bites alone.

I had bed bugs in the past and I've only experienced these red spots and blade-like temporary scars and circular bite looking ones one next to the other after I had bed bugs. I don't have them anymore but I cannot accept this as 'a fact of life' concerning the fact that it really isn't for me because this wasn't like my skin BEFORE the infestation of bed bugs. They're gone but I will go to a dermatologist and allergist and will clean my room as much as possible to get rid of anything I can find. Although I've looked and haven't found a trace of evidence.

P.S. If some 'cast skins' or 'faecal traces' or anything of that matter have been in my room for a long period of time, can that still be the cause of these irritating spots and bite looking scars on my skin? After a while, will these evidence particles have no effect on my skin?

I really need to get rid of this, I've been like this for a couple months now.

Also very frequently, I'll just start feeling itchiness on random parts of my body, usually my neck, thigh(s), arms or stomach or other places. The result is extreme redness and patches.
