Need help! Searching for someone with dog detector in Central New York State...
(2 posts)-
I've posted before, so I'm sorry for the repeat, but I received no responses here (though one or two dog owners contacted me from out of the area, who I know read this forum). I live in Ithaca, NY -- half way between Binghamton and Syracuse. My PCO sprayed twice, and for a month or so, I feel like I was bedbug free. Now I feel like I'm getting bitten again, but I am not sure if they are in my apartment, or perhaps in my office (before I knew I had bed bugs, I transfered some boxes of files from the office to the apartment, and from the apartment to the office).
I would love to have a bed bug-detecting dog check my apartment and office to see if there are any in either place. I am leaving for winter break and will be back January 15th. In the meantime, if I could be in touch with anybody who could offer advice or assistance, that would be great. I went crazy just a little (actually, quite a bit) when I first found out I had bed bugs, and now the craze is starting again. I do have a PackTite, which I am using to disinfect the belongings I am taking with me for winter vacation. I'll have a few weeks away from the bugs (real or imagined)...

Hi tiredinithaca,
You might consider calling Bill Whitstine of Florida Canine Academy in Florida. This is his website. Ask him if any bed bug dogs he has trained are in the vicinity. They might have to travel a bit but if they are in the vicinity and there are no other options, this may be something they do anyway.
