Hello,
We first found bed bugs in our apartment about a year ago, and immediately told our landlord. We did a lot of work, and have been sprayed at least 4 times, after each finding a new bug until the last treatment. I have found no bugs, caught none in the traps, or seen spotting on the sheets for about 4 months or so. But I recently found out that the neighbor upstairs got bed bugs, and she was sprayed, and our apartment was sprayed 2 more times as well with hers. She moved out immediately and did not bait them over the poison.
We recently bought a house, and have to move into the house in less than a month and I am TERRIFIED that we could be bringing them with us?
Any Advice?
I need some reassurance please!!!
I'm a first time home buyer and the last thing I want is to have to have bed bugs in my new home! -

If you live in a place where Vikane or thermal are available, having the moving truck treated with one of those methods between leaving your current apartment and arriving at your new home is one option.
Done properly by PCOs who know their stuff, fumigation with Vikane or treating the truck with thermal should kill any hitch hikers.
However, neither of those treatments are cheap. They may both be cheaper than treating the new home you're moving into.
If there is a good K9 dog/handler team in your area or a PCO willing to do a thorough inspection whose skills you trust in the area, having a thorough inspection before you move might also give you a little more peace of mind.

I live in Winnipeg Manitoba, and I don't think they have Vikane gas OR bed bug sniffing dogs!
