We had a very hardworking PCO steam the mattress, furniture, walls etc and then treat with chemicals three times, each about a week apart. It was a light infestation with no signs of bugs except for two blood smears on my pillow. I only got bit once a week so was hoping it was only a couple of bugs. I have EXTREME reactions within a few minutes of the bite (hives and lip swelling) so I know immediately and even wake up out of a deep sleep. The bugs came to us from a chair which we threw out after we realized, which was in the house about 2 weeks. Nobody in the other bedroom has bites or signs of bugs around bed.
After the first treatment we bought encasements for the mattress and box spring, which I check for tears regularly. After the last treatment I don't see any point calling them back so I've put diatomaceous earth in the cracks and on the floor around the bed, plus climb ups. Its been about a week since I put the DE down, and I know it takes time, but this week I've been bitten four days since the last time instead of the usual seven days so I'm worried they're reproducing. Caulking, etc is not really an option since I'm renting an old, crumbly house and could never fully seal all the openings.
We've been living out of plastic bags out in the hallway after emptying all the furniture and washing all clothes in hot water and drying on high.

Should I call the PCO for one last treatment before their 45 day guarantee is up? Anything else to do or just wait for the DE to eventually work? Should I just leave the furniture and move when my lease is up? I'm the only one being bit, I have a newborn who is safe so far in a plastic bassinet but I'm scared to put together a crib for her and get it infested. My husband has only been bit when we had the chair and I'm willing to keep being the bait but don't want to end up in the hospital with my throat swollen and unable to breathe. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

We decided to call them back, they promised to do a much more thorough job and send two people this time. Its been about a week with the diatomaceous earth and still getting bit and swollen lip. If this doesn't work my mom said she'd help us move.
