Need Advice on possible BB's(1 post)
First I just wanted to say how much I appreciate this sight and all of the users who make it such a useful forum. I have learned more than I ever wanted to know about bed bugs and other bugs in the past few days.
I posted a few days ago about my situation, but as a recap, a week ago I woke up with about 10 mosquito looking bites and immediately was scared that I had bedbugs. I had a K9 come and inspect, which alerted to the radiator in my room. The PCO associated with the dog, advised me that I should have my apartment treated immediately, which I agreed to.
They told me that they would be steam cleaning my bed, sofa, furniture and they would be applying a chemical treatment, which I later learned to be Suspend and Gentrol. At no point did I or the PCO find any bugs, cast skins, fecal stains, or blood stains.
It's been 8 days, and after reading through this site and specifically reading about other stories exactly like mine in NYC, I am not even sure if I ever had bedbugs. I have not gotten any other bites, and have not seen any other bb activity, that I'm aware of. I have always had my mattress encased and have inspected both my bed and between the mattress and box spring every night before I go to bed.
So my two questions:
1. How long would anyone suggest I wait to unpack my things if I continue to notice no signs of activity and no more bites.
2. The PCO will come and spray as many more times as I'd like within 30 days of the first treatment at no additional charge. Would you suggest getting another treatment? I'm already annoyed that I rushed to have any treatment done without having proof of bed bugs other than the K9 signal and I'd prefer not to have more chemicals sprayed in my apartment.
3. Would you have another PCO come in to do a visual inspection for security, or should I assume that I never had the bugs at all and just move on?
