So. After 4 months of pouring over this site I am posting.

My experience started in late October. My landlord issued a notice saying a PCO would be entering each apartment in the building to apply a "barrier treatment" to prevent BBs from migrating. The landlord said the PCO would do an inspection at this time and we would be contacted if they found activity.

I found that two of my across the hall neighbors were treated for bed bugs so immediately I did an inspection of my own. I found 2 fecal spots on my box spring and one dead adultish sized one behind my bed. I contacted my landlord and he scheduled a treatment 1 week away.

In the mean time I prepped all my stuff, washed all my clothes, read this forum for hours on end. The next morning I woke up with a tiny little bite that itched like crazy. that was the only bite I could ever tell I got. I was checking my bed every night and didn't see any new signs.

My PCOs came back for a second and final treatment on November 17th. I didn't have any more bites and I didn't see any more tell tale signs. My lease was up February 1 and even before this ordeal I was ready to move. So I moved into my new apartment January 28th without my box spring, without my couch (although I don't think it was ever infested). Since then, life's been good although I was still checking my bed occasionally.

Flash forward to this morning. I woke up with two red bites on my ankle! They look way different then the 1 bite that I attributed to BBs. I inspected my bed and didn't find much. However, these spots on my encasement have me somewhat concerned they may be fecal spots?

I'm trying to be logical and I'm not totally convinced that after 4 months of nothing they are back. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I'm no expert but those look exactly like what I found when I finally realized I had bed bugs. I'm very sorry.

ugh not the response I was hoping for but none the less thank you! Looks like one of the links didn't work so I'm trying again.

Also I didn't mention this before but it might a factor... my new apartment seems to have an ant issue. I've found a bunch of dead ants that look like common sugar ants on my window sill and floor by my window. This morning I found a dead one in my bed right near me. And a live one crawling around on the corner of my box spring. Right where I found those potential fecal spots.

    What gives?!

That doesn't look dark enough to be fecal.

Thanks! That give me some level of assurance. I suppose I will keep doing some diligent bed checks and monitoring.

In the mean time I will battle these ants!
