Last year around november I started getting some bites and was rather itchy in general. I searched and searched and found no signs of anything hiding in my room. I dusted around the baseboards/in the electrical outlets, metal bed frame and so on with DE. I bought expensive encasements and put those on. I haven't had a problem since so I don't know if I was reacting to something like carpet beetles or if I did have a couple bed bugs and managed to trap them in the encasements before they spread out.

I'm moving next week and I'm not sure how to go about this-do I leave the encasements on the mattress/box spring and largely risk a tear (since there's nothing to grab onto when carrying them) or take them off risking the chance something was hiding in there after all?

I keep thinking just taking them off and putting them back on as soon as I get to the new place seems best, but I'm really not sure.

My cat also tries to go after my bed, all the friggen time. I have 2 fitted sheets on the mattress and a fleece cover over the box spring to try and stop her claws from tearing them (and a blanket wrapped around the bottom where she goes most)-I've checked periodically and see no signs of holes but could I really be able to see anything if she tore somewhere?

ETA-if I did have bedbugs, I'd know it by now right? I get so worked up worrying about bedbugs, agh.

Am I allowed to bump my topic?

Sorry if this is against rules, I know it isn't in some forums/websites.
