    Hi
Good to see we are not alone...altought i usually prefer rock'n'roll forums
I'm joining the forces to share my experience.
I'm from Montreal (french is my first language so forgive me for english mistakes )

We have bedbugs since two months (approx) in the building i live. Two appartments, we live downstairs and our bedroom is right under the upstair bedroom. One month ago my upstairs neigbourghs start to do vacuuming, moving furnitures and washing-drying clothes during nightime ( a hell lot of noise). As their bedroom window is just up to our and we were clearly awokened, we heard them say they were trying to get rid of bedbugs.
Two weeks before i started to notice strange biting on my arms, legs and feet. Three or four bites in line ,very itchy in my case. I did'nt pay attention at first 'cause it's summer, and we go in the country during weekends. Then we realised it was bedbugs from hell in our appartment.

We read a little on the net and realised we had to call the landlord (on holiday) to have a pco soon as possible. Landlord did the right thing and the guy came the day after. He got in the bedroom and found the spot in two minutes. We have a futon with wood frame and they left shit spots in wood joints at three places. They probably crawled in the wall between the two appartments to spread.
After inspection upstair, the guy told me it was coming from there and that my neigbourgh had tryed to get rid of it by himself...bad idea.

At last he said it was not a major case but he would have to treat the building anyway. We had to hotwash+hot dry all the tissues, curtains , do careful vacuming of floor + bed+drawers , get rid of cardboard boxes before treatment. I personnaly took three days abd did a huge inspection of every palces in the appartment.

Then PCO came and put boric powder under bed and drawers , did the edges of all appartment walls+ matress with pyrethrin and asked us to let it like this for 15 days before he come back for second treatment. Then we had to hotdry all sheets and blankets every morning. I decided to put double face tape around bedroom door frame to keep the invader inside the bedroom and putted caulking in EVERY gap in the appartment (especially the floor-wall edges). I asked PCO before doing that.

After a week and a half hungry bedbugs started to appears. I knew it was normal as they have to get out to be poisoned.I got bitten one night, and three day after we saw one on the matress during daytime .I putted it in a small plastic cup with oxygen and a little boric powder, she lived 48h hours (last 24 on her back moving her legs....hmmm).

My girlfriend woke up a night feeling something crawling on her and as she turned on the light she catched and crushed the guilty vampire. Then one dead bedbug falled from the blankets one morning confirming the poison was working on them. Last week just before the second treatment, we started to see the nymphs, one very tiny on the wall and one a little bigger in the sheets, both of them were fed as they had a brown spot in their abdomen...they'll never feed again. Then we did carefull vacuming and the PCO came. This time he did pyrethrin on every edges of wall again and sprayed a can on the matress (no powder this time).

Then we decided to move from the appartment because of an old conflict with our noisy neigbours (they are well knowned in the area) and the fact PCO told us they had a lot of shoes and clothing on the floor when he did his first inspection. The thing is....between the inspection and the treatments we never heard their washing machine or their vacuum ..... we think they putted things in bags and that's it. Don't get me wrong we are not spying, it is just that they are so noisy that we know when they are breathing.

Now finally my question is, how can we move safely ??
We decided to get rid of the bed frame and one drawer (we have two). The pco told me he gonna sell me a stuff to put in the new appartment before we get in, just to prevent.

What do you think i could do without getting more neurotic? and.... do some people have some simple success stories to share about getting rid of bedbugs ?, cause there is so much desperate cases in these forums that i often feel it's a lost battle...
In exchange i promise to keep contact and let you know of the evolution of my case .

    Thanks a lot
