Hi,
I'm moving back in tonight into my bedroom after sleeping on the couch for a few weeks. After reading so much on this site, i'm afraid that they may still be here. how can i be so lucky to have gotten rid of them so soon?
here's time timeline of this case-
sept. 14-16: business trip to where i may have gotten them from a hotel
oct 10: saw an actual live bedbug.
oct. 16: PCO came in, determined they were only in my room. would come back to spray once the room was cleared out.
oct. 20: sprayed whole room ,which is now empty, mattress thrown away, clothes washed and bagged, everything else trashed. confirmed again they are only in my room, rest of the apt is clear
oct. 29: came back and sprayed again, saying theres no evidence they are still there as it was a mild case.tonight-my clothes are still in bags in the living room. for the first time i am planning on sleeping in my room. i got an air mattress and hopefully i see no bites tonight. he put little sticker things on the baseboards to see if any would get stuck in them and they are empty. so does it look like i'm in the clear? i havnt been bit since october 16th. ive been sleeping on the couch in the living room and they havnt followed me there. the PCO says i'm safe to buy a new bed and hang up all my clothes and go back to my life. but considering what ive read here, it seems too good to be true. so many people have been cleared of BBs and months later still have them. i'm staying positive and hoping for the best. the last thing i need is to buy a new bed and to find out i still have them. is it possible for it to be over?

I know how you feel! My first night back in the bedroom was scary and I kept flipping back the covers to check if there was anything crawling around! I'm still sleeping with a night light on!
I think you could get a new bed but just make sure to buy encasements for both the mattress and boxsprings. That way, if they are still around they won't be able to get inside your new bed.
I believe we had a small infestation that we caught early on and so far it's been a few weeks now without any signs of them. Maybe your's is the same. Good luck and get some sleep!!!
PS I think a good sign, for both of us, is the fact that we moved to another room and nothing followed us. It would seem to indicate that there were few and they were caught before multiplying. -
Jeam: You've run the marathon and done all the work. At best, you're done. At worst, you might need a touch-up or a few more days of bugs crossing poison. You've got the moves down cold. Even at its worst, its unlikely that you're going to suffer an "onslaught". Keep your stuff bagged, but enjoy the rest that comes from a job well done. Good night, sleep tight and damn the bugs. The're as good as "over".

Cilecto,
You are so positive. I've had the same story except I'm not moving back in yet. Still in the guest room. My master bedroom needed painting and I'm waiting for the painters to come. Frankly, I'm extremely scared to move in. You can see my posts of my story. -

Cilecto,
You are so positive.it's not my nature, rather something I need to will myself to be
btw, I'm one of the "worried well". Getting bit doesn't scare me as much as having to prep for treatment.
good morning, Jean. How'd it go? -
UPDATE!
So I slept in my bedroom in my bedroom. Yesterday I noticed a couple of bumps on my back. They dont look like the BB bumps I had BUT YOU NEVER KNOW.
Is it possible theres still a couple lurking around in here? Is it possible that they came out and the chemicals hit them and they died? Furthermore, how long does the chemicals stay in the room after being treated?
I'm not for sure if these two new bites are from bed bugs. BUT I'm remaining positive that these mofos are gone for good.
This entire experience has made me paranoid. I'm afraid to rub against anyone on the subway. I no longer sit on the seats. I went to the movies last week and was worried something would come home with me. All this makes me want to move to New Jersey.

What?! New Joisey doesn't have bed bugs?

I'm at this stage now too... room has been nuked, don't think anything made it to the front of the house (even though I slept up there for 3 nights before treatment - well, 2 and a bit.. that first night I didn't sleep much at all) and I've got my mattress / boxspring encasements in place.
my case also seemed mild (although it would seem to fit the 6-8 range on the scale someone posted on the forums here) and the PCO was fairly positive we would get them all on the first try, but I'm still slightly creeped out about going back in tonight.
now to finish cleaning the sheets / blankets and give it another try.

I hope these few bumps i found on my back are just random bumps...BEING POSITIVE...
i threw away my bed, shoes, bags, a couple 3 drawer plastic storage units with all my make up and random stuff inside in the trash. gone are my books and cds. i threw everything away to ensure this would get rid of the BBs. i'm lucky i didnt have that many things to begin with. All i have left are the clothes that i washed (which are tripple bags in the living room), this chair i'm sitting on, this table, this laptop and my air mattress. perhaps i took the most extreme precautions but this has to mean they are gone right?! ugh FML.

I'm somewhere between week 3 and 4 of no bites at all. I have been sleeping on an air mattress. PCO says I can completely move my clothes back in and buy a new bed.
Is it safe now to go back to my life? Or can they somehow be hanging out with biting me this long and may show up again? What is the likelihood of that?
