I've posted a couple times since I've moved, but I'm hoping for some feedback so I don't go nuts.

My roommate and I took all of the precautions before we moved to a new apartment. The new place is older, and there are other bugs there. I've seen spiders, ants, and I am woken up most nights by mosquitoes buzzing in my ear. There's an overgrown backyard outside of my bedroom, and the mosquitoes like to find their way in after it rains.

I'm getting a bite or two every few nights. The bites are only on exposed skin on my hands and arms (when I had bbs, they were always on my legs, under the covers, etc.). The bites are smallish, look suspiciously bb-esque, but often i'll panic, then swat a mosquito that has clearly just bit me. I've got my new bed encased, and I've put DE all along the cracks of the wall and by the bed frame.

Does this sound like cause for concern? Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Any time you get bites at night that look like bedbug bites (when you know what bedbug bites look like on your skin) you have cause for concern. If you think they are mosquitos, could you try mosquito netting? I've heard of people who go as far as sleeping in backpack tents inside their apartments just to keep bugs out. If you have a backpack tent, you could test it out.

Are you leaving the windows open or what? How are mosquitoes getting in?

    Just saw these responses!

The mosquitos are gone now that it's freezing out.

In my terror, I called my landlord about a precautionary PCO treatment and he covered it, so now I've had 3 treatments.

No more big welt-like bites (which were clearly from the mosquitos), but I'm now getting one tiny, pimple-like bump every night or two. They are so so small, and barely itchy at all. Nothing like the bites I used to get. I'm wondering if it may just be a stress reaction, because my anxiety levels have been extreme.

My friends are saying it may be fleas, but that seems so unlikely.

Someone tell me not to worry!

Kate, I'm curious as to what happened to you.
This sounds like what happened to me....the bites became smaller and less itchy when it wasn't as hot out.
When it was hot out and super humid, the bite reactions I would have were swollen and large.

    Can someone explain that?
