Mold vs fecal

   Found a few black spots that smeared with some force on a baseboard. But am not sure if it is mold or fecal. It was in a hallway about 6 or more feet from the bed. It was just a few spots and I've seen nothing else.

   I see what looks to be the same type of marks on the garage steps (no where near a bed or couch) They've been there for a while and I just figured it was mold. But now I'm worried.

   So is that what could be what was in the hallway in the house too?

   I live in the south with lots of humidity, have seen booklice in the house and do have seemingly a mold problem in the garage. And those spots look the same as those in the hall in the house.

   I guess I'm asking, how does one tell the difference between BB fecal and mold?

   Some say to test the spots with hydrogen peroxide and a Q-tipto see if the spots smear to a certain color. Search the forum for info on that, which may help. (I haven't tried that yet.)
