Mistery Bites and Morgellons reported all over the news.
(5 posts)-
I first learned about this a year or so ago when I was battling my bed bug infestation and after not hearing much about Morgellons for several months I had the TV on last night and to my surprise Nightline was in the process of reporting on this Morgellon thing. It blew my mind! Many professionals are taking this seriously and I think Lou Sorkin is also involved, I also believe that some professionals such as Harvard's Dr. Pollack do not believe that it is a possibility.
Well, after witnessing the fall of the World Trade towers and having experienced bed bugs I do believe that anything is possible.
I keep an open mind.

I also saw this on Good Morning America today. I liked the fact that their tv producers took actual fibers from people with Morgellons and sent them to the FBI crime lab and compared the Morgellon "fibers" to all fibers in the database the FBI uses to analyze fibers, apparently a huge number. It didn't match any fiber known.
I don't have an opinion about Morgellons except that I want to keep an open mind, but I did notice how the Morgellons skin conditions they showed sometimes also looked like bedbug bites and scratches, and that the magnification of the fibers and such sometimes looked like magnification of bedbug cast skins did under my jewelers loupe. Maybe they will make some interesting findings.

Hi,
I recall seeing a web site about this before people started referring to it as Morgellons and hearing someone in the last 6 months stating that they thought this may in fact be the cause behind about 50% of the US cases of delusional parasitosis.
It is certainly an unusual one and I hear the threads which are common to this condition can be difficult to see with the naked eye.
I look forward to reading more about it as research continues.

I, too saw GMA this morning and recognized the similarities. As a matter of fact, LT Dan, I thought about you--wondering if you'd seen the show. The itchiness (especially after a hot shower), the creepy crawlies, the occasional stings, the slight relief during colder temperatures (does it go dormant?), dismissal from dermatologists, ---it all sounds so much like bb symptoms. Maybe there's a parasite there...maybe there's a correlation to bb's somewhere. I'll be interested to learn more...

I am glad the CDC is looking into it.
