When dealing with my bb infestation, I remembered that years ago, i met college students who had bb in their dorm rooms. They told me that the treatment included microwaving all their books and other similar things for a few seconds, or minutes, I do not remember. I wondered if anybody ever heard of this treatment to get rid of bugs in your stuff, if it really helps and if their is some more specificic indications about how long to leave it there, or for what to microwave.
I wont use this technique until I know it is not harmful and unefficient, but well, thanks if you have some more information!

The microwave is NOT a good choice for a thermal treatment device due to the risk starting a fire. Items can get way too hot & timing also is too critical.

Your household clothes dryer is a much better choice for many items. Temp is more controllable & limited. A dyer shelf can be used for small items that cannot be tumbled. There is, of course, a potential fire danger with creative use of the clothes dryer too...be careful.
