Hi all! Long time no post. Been very busy in Portland with new Advisory Task Force and other endeavors. I came across this today and I'm not sure what to think. It's a mattress cover with insecticides in it. I'd like to hear what the experts on the forum think about this. It sounds kinda creepy to me.

"ActiveGuard is NOT an encasement. It is a fitted sheet, scientifically impregnated with permethrin that allows an even, consistent, low dose application directly onto the mattress and boxspring over time. Originally created for children and adults suffering from asthma and atopic skin diseases, ActiveGuard has been shown to be effective against both lab and field strains of bed bugs in addition to house dust mites. ActiveGuard liners can be easily installed onto any size mattress."

Hmm, we has an excess of snake oil in the warehouse and its going cheap.

The idea of impregnated fitted sheets is just about as silly as its going to get, for a start bed bugs don't tend to it still on the sheets for long enough for this approach to be effective. I have also said before that over use and over exposure to chemical products encourages tolerance to develop which just makes control so much harder.

Not a product concept that will get my approval regardless of what lab data they produce to try and prove it works.
