i woke up today with some old bites on the left side of my neck. in addition to the bites from yesterday i had a swollen lymph node on the same side. i thought could it be related?

    and sure enough:

    What causes swollen lymph nodes?
Lymph nodes often swell in one location when a problem such as an injury, infection, or tumor develops in or near the lymph node. Which lymph nodes are swollen can help identify the problem.

The glands on either side of the neck, under the jaw, or behind the ears commonly swell when you have a cold or sore throat. Glands can also swell following an injury, such as a cut or bite, near the gland or when a tumor or infection occurs in the mouth, head, or neck.

    (from webmd)

Just something else to look forward to if you get bit on the neck. vampires.

Buggirl - swollen lymph nodes can also indicate serious illness - you should get them cecked by a Dr

This happened to me at the height of our infestation. I had swollen lymph nodes on both sides and ended up having to see an oncologist for extensive (and painful) testing. I was and am fine. It was 100% from the bed bugs (three doctors finally were able to agree on this). I lost track of how much time and money were wasted in this sorry nightmare but that was definitely the low point. These things bit me everywhere, including my eyelids. We were treated again this month (4th treatment) and there is very little "stuff" in this house anymore so maybemaybemaybe this time they'll be gone. We've literally worn out the washing machine!!! Tonight I felt like something was crawling on my back but I couldn't fine anything. I've been itching all over for the past hour. It may be psychological this time and OH how I'd love that to be so!!!
