I seem to remember there being a post with a list of the length of time that various stages of bed bugs could live without feeding. It had a table with the difference of the number of days at which the bugs could live at various temperatures.

    But I can't find it.

Does anyone happen to know where it is? If so, I'd be grateful if you could post a link since my google-fu is failing me.

The table on temp & lifespan across different stages was an excerpt from Usinger's Monograph on Cimicidae, 1966.

I sent a PM to you with a link & info on how to locate the table online.

Searched in the search box below for usinger's Monograph. Got this:

It's not exactly what you described, but may be what you're thinking of.

Doug, can you share this information with everyone? Or is it top secret? Thanks!

thanks Nobugs - I was wondering the same thing about temps.

I know that cold is not an effective killer but a few months ago I had a really bad problem with them in my car - I have not been bothered at all lately in my car but I was wondering if they are hibernating or truly dead since the car is left outaide and it's been so brutal cold here and the car is driven only rarely

since cold is not a great killer but the cold also brings dryness and low humidity which can kill them

I am concerned about the spring time and if they will re-emerge once the weather warms up

    No, not top secret.

A shortcut to locate Usinger's Monograph on Cimicidae on the AFPMB library.

    http://lrs.afpmb.org/rlgn_app/ar_login/guest/guest

From the search page...uncheck the box in front of articles & check on the box for books.

Run a search on bed bugs... The results will list Usinger's Monograph as one of two books in the search results.

The tables summarizing the results of Ormi's research on temp & lifespan are in the section on Ecology on page eleven.
