Let us all PROMISE to post our success stories when we get there.
(6 posts)-
Let's all please make a promise that when we do finally get rid of these things, PLEASE come back to these forums and post what we did! I think there are not enough people who come back to help those who were once in their situation. We need to have hope!

I hope you will! A lot of people hesitate to declare success because they don't really know when they're definitely gone, and then they forget to come back once they're sure.

A couple of months ago I passed the 18 months bed bug free milestone, and suddenly without warning, the last of my paranoia and caution just dissolved. I wasn't really expecting any kind of dramatic effect, but...
And on a more victorious note, yesterday I conducted the first of many presentations on bed bugs. This first was to about 40 adult foster care operators on behalf of our county public health department. Wow, it was awesome. Next week here in the great northwest we will have our first Bed Bug Summit.

Feeling satisfied in Portland, ORAh, can you post details about the Bed Bug Summit in the great northwest?
Start a separate thread to do that so people will notice it in particular.
Much appreciation.

Back to the topic, yes please post success events. Just as important as "Is this a bed bug?" and even more so. Pop culture and many media outlets sensationalize. BED BUGS!, nowhere is safe, you can't get rid of them, there back etc etc etc. Yet hundreds of cases are resolved each week but no one hears about it. NYC 311 records for fiscal year 2010 show a decline in bed bug reports for Manhattan and Queens, but that won't get you to tune in, buy the paper, or the new trend, but my book.
