Hi all...I've been scouring this forum for a while trying to figure out if I may have a problem. About a month ago, I had several bites on my arm. My apartment was treated for pests. I searched the mattress/box spring just in case and encased both in two vinyl plastic covers with the zippers duck taped shut. I have been looking for signs religiously ever since - no fecal matter, no blood stains, nothing (I have white sheets). I've been getting about two bites per week for the past few weeks. Earlier this week, I had a few show up on my leg. This morning, I found one bed bug on my comforter, which clearly hadn't had a meal. I have already contacted my apartment maintenance management and asked for next steps. I'm hoping that since it's been a month and I've only found one bug with no other signs, that it is not a large problem. Thoughts? Any advice on what I should ask the apartment building/pest control company?

Thanks in advance -- you all have unknowingly giving me help (and hope!) over the past month.

Hi. I actually did exact same thing, sealed the mattress with vinyl and taped all over.

But I still get the bites, so I'm thinking they can go through vinyl or something.

Doubtful, but they're most likely not just in the mattress/box spring, but living in the nooks & crannies of the bed frame itself, or their harborage could be in any number of places away from the bed, and they just crawl up to bite you in the night and then crawl away. The cover itself is not going to do the trick.
