   I would make sure they have independent entomologist's testing data comparable to that provided by Protect-a-bed, MattressSafe, and others (see Encasements FAQ).

   If you can't get an encasement that is truly secure, then ask yourself why you're buying an encasement.

   If money's tight, and your mattress's own cover is intact, it may make more sense to encase only the box springs (KillerQueen suggests using a mattress encasement made by Protect-a-bed for this, since he feels mattress encasements are more sturdy than box spring encasements), which is hard to thoroughly inspect, and provides lots of sneaky harborages.
