I recently found these two stains on a white blanket that sits on our couch. My cats sit on this blanket, and initially I thought the stains might be some kind of drool just after they ate (hence the darker color). But a closer look reveals that both of the stains have a tiny darker brown spot in the center of the stain. Does anyone have any idea of what this is? I haven't seen anything like this when looking at photos of fecal, although I guess it might resemble bed bug urea a bit? Could it be something from another kind of bug? I know the chances that anyone can identify this are slim, but thought it was worth a try. (I apologize for the quality of the photos--I had to take them with my cell, as my camera just broke.)

Thanks, EffCi. In case you return to this thread: do you have any idea if it looks like it is related to some other kind of bug? I remember David posting some photos of roach droppings and BB droppings and there were a lot of similarities--do you think could it be something bug (but not bed bug) related?

Looks like it could have been left by cat throw-up residue, a pus-oozing wound, or possibly a body fluid other than blood...
