Stayed at friend's house who discovered a small infestation after I left. Did all the laundry and dried on high for ever, everything else is bagged. Is this a bed bug I just found?

No. Shed skin of a dermestid beetle. See how it is open down the middle? Please look at images of nymphs and other bed bug related pictures so you can understand why this is a non-bed bug artifact.

Thanks Lou, I wondered what it was exactly, I knew it was not a BB, but as I try to pick up the amateur ID skills, I like to learn more. I appreciate when you elaborate on the details so I can learn to see things a bit better.

Thank you, I will confirm with the exterminator tomorrow (they told me to call first thing in the morning) and will report the final verdict. Just to be safe, I will still steam my closets, bed and drawers and do the rest of the laundry. Better safe than sorry I guess.
