Got Bed Bugs? Bedbugger Forums » General Topics
Is it true? Must we lock ourselves in our BB infested homes?
(3 posts)-
A year or so ago a member wrote that one of her family members had a large infestation and twice when the son visited her house a bedbug fell off his clothes. Is this a concern, that we will carry bedbugs from our homes to other peoples houses, to work, to wherever we go? My infestation (still waiting to confirm) started with a friend's visit who'd been gypsying around at hotels. I try to have in-the-room sleeping clothes which I leave in the infested room, and clothes and shoes for the rest of the house. But, the guest room where he stayed (and I'm now staying) is also my office, so I'm in and out during the day (with house clothes and shoes). I sit at my desk and sometimes on the floor but never on the bed.
-- Could I be picking up eggs and bugs and spreading them around the house and to other locations in town? If so, how? (I thought they hid away during the day, not hanging out on carpets and desks.)
-- How can we be sure not to dump this horrible situation on other people through our own movements?Posters seemed upset that the infested house family visited around, and I understand upset that she wasn't acting quickly, but aren't we all out and about even as we try to eliminate the problems?
Thanks to all!

Hi Claire@,
Check out this FAQ for useful info on how to avoid spreading bugs around.
There is a section called Avoid spreading bed bugs on a daily basis (added 6/2009) that you might find helpful.
So sorry you're dealing with this. Hang in there.

-MindOverBBsHi MindOverBBs:
That's a great name. Coincidentally, the PCO guy who came out today said much the same: Don't let it get you down, that just makes it harder to plan well. He was a sweetheart. Anyway, thanks for the link. I'm on another FAQ now and will check out the one you recommend.
Best wishes, Claire
