I can't state who wrote it - but this person made some interesting observations based on their own bed bug experience that I doubt I would have been able to do (without bedbugger forum to rely on-- I mean)

Interesting, but inconsistent. In the author's view, do the resistant BB go mad and die, survive and multiply, or does it vary? Also, gotta check out that "dichotomous earth".

Earth that has been unnecssarily divided into a false binary? Excellent.

For example there are silica and glass treatments, employing finely ground shards of sharp glass and silica,

Holy crap who the hell is trying finely ground glass?! That is madness!

Jim - i just think the author was incorrectly referring to DE powder - i don't think anyone is selling "shards of glass"

IIRC, glass is made of silica, hence the connection.

Well, this guy (his name is Brent Herbert) was ALSO trying to get people to isolate the bed and do nothing else. He claimed this would make the bed bugs leave your home forever. There are articles from me and former Bedbugger Bugzindahood on some of his ideas here (with links to the sources):

aaahhh - ok - so it seems you are familiar with the author!

I could not find his name on that particular article. But judging from the other articles and posts surrounding his writings it seems like this guy is just certifiable........

ok we can put this post to rest!

    selling "shards of glass"

Glass shards, get your glass shards

We have them in many shapes and sizes and our new range of snake oil scented one very popular with the ladies who keep a tidy home and want it to smell fresh (in a recent consumer study only 1 in 10 consumers reported that snake oil smelt fishy).

Its the new green clean away to protect your home until the bed bugs get board and move on to your neighbours.

For added protection when applying enquire about our designer range of tin foil hats available in all sizes.

There will also be an eBook out soon.

The most idiotic bed bug website I have seen, hands down, was one where this person was telling people to grind up silica-based cat litter and leave this ground up cat litter down to kill bed bugs.

(I refuse to give these people a link:)

cheap bed bug killers (<-- all one word) dot blogspot dotcom

Yeah, so like, um, you can afford silica gel cat litter, but not diatomaceous earth (AMORPHOUS SILICA), which is cheaper and does not require grinding up!?!

    Notes:

I can't comment on whether the cat litter thing actually works, but I do think it is not a good idea. I am happy to defer to people with more knowledge. Perhaps David Cain and Killer Queen have secret silica cat litter grinding stations, but I doubt it.

If you use diatomaceous earth, do your research. It is not a full solution for most people and must be selected and used carefully and cautiously. This FAQ is just a start, not the end of your research.
